Screenshot style static banners
Bitlife
For banner ads like these, I took screenshots during gameplay that I then edited in Photoshop for brevity and details. I produced new ones as the game updated and added expansion packs.
The designs that accrued the most impressions included drawn circles and arrows, emojis, and a simple caption to tie everything together.
The end result is an image that resembles a meme or social media post but is intentionally curated for user acquisition.
For spinoff games Catlife and Doglife, I leaned more into the meme look by using fun stock photos.
Word Forest, Axie Infinity, and Trivia Night
These static ad examples were created from scratch using game assets rather than from edited screenshots. This way I was able to fully control the visuals and game content featured.
The text captions reflect copy that trends well in mobile game ads.

Over the shoulder videos
For this creative style, I recorded myself interacting with a phone and then edited the footage in After Effects in a Tiktok video style.
Vibe: "Vibe check'"
I produced this creative by first taking a screen recording of the app. I needed to replace the actual users with stock images and I wanted to create believable button tapping actions, so I put together some edited screens in Adobe XD.
I then recorded myself interacting with the simple app prototype I had created, and finished the footage in After Effects.

IMVU: "Get ready with me"
The concept of a manicured fingertip tapping on options had been effective for other games, so I tried it for IMVU. I prepared for filming by putting together and saving the outfit ahead of time. Editing together quick shots with varied angles created an authentic looking result that garnered high impressions.
Slingo Casino: "Remember Slingo?"
The onscreen footage in this creative is a combination of actual gameplay and pre-recorded video clips that highlight positive outcomes. The game sound effects are diegetic while the music and voiceover were added in After Effects.
Trivia Night: "60s TV"
To curate the questions in this video, I edited a segment of screen recorded footage with my own content using After Effects. Since the game UI is fairly simple, I could mimic its appearance and animations without too much difficulty.
Then I played the edited footage back on my phone and filmed myself pretending to play the game.

Screen recorded videos
Litstick
To make these creatives, I recorded myself texting between two phones and then edited the footage in After Effects. I removed the lag between messages and adjusted the playback speed small sections at a time to place more or less focus on the content as needed.
The audio styles come from Tiktok trends, so the results are videos that fit in a social media feed without disruption.
